JOHN GASIDLO: For the past 28 years, my main areas of focus have been creating wills and trusts and living trusts for clients and various types of litigation, including wills and trust contests in probate court.
I've appeared in 16 different probate courts, 13 of the 15 civil trial courts, the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Connecticut Supreme Court.
My litigation experience accomplishes two things. First, it puts the nervous client at ease. They know they're being represented by a competent attorney. Second, because I have tried will contests and trust contests, I know how to draft wills and trusts that are immune to attack.
The thing that most motivates me in estate planning and probate is family; the bottom line is family is the most important thing to all of us. And the very, very nice thing about creating documents, trusts and wills for clients is that I'm helping a client achieve their goals.
